Terraina

Our legend begins here, on the continent of Terraina. Named in honor of Terra, The Crystal Entity of the Earth, Terraina is home to many different people, cultures and customs.

This land mass, about the size of North America, has its cultures divided by the environment, plains, bay forests, arctic and desert. Each is home to their own division of The Anti-Mages.

Once consumed by an endless feudal era, the people of Terraina largely have learned to set aside their differences and work together, but that doesn't mean skirmishes don't happen here or there. However, events were recently set into motion that could threaten not just the continent or its people, but the world as a whole, as well as spill into other worlds, but that's a story for another time

Plains District

Home to the Capital of Terraina and The Omega Anti-Mages, The Plains District is largely considered the central hub of the entire continent. Their economy relies on mostly agriculture and in some cases industrialized labor, but the people tend to be very diverse and have gathered from all over Terraina. The People of the Plains District are hardy and know the value of an honest day's work. They speak with an accent normally found in The Great Plains in America. Their complexion tends to by lightly tanned and despite their relatively peaceful nature, the Plain's District harbors a deep resentment towards spellcasters. Like the civilians, The Omega Anti-Mages are also hardy and usually friendly. This branch tends to be a jack of all trades that aren't afraid to offer their assistance to the other branches. Despite their hard working attitude and the fact The Capital of Terraina is under their watch, the other branches look down on their combat prowess and capability in missions because of their friendly nature.

The Forest Lands

Where The Plains District is the biggest hub of industry and agriculture, the people of The Forest Lands live with very little technology and many consider them one with nature. They are natural hunters and trackers and their main contribution to Terraina's larger economy often comes in the way of game, furs and guides to travelers. The people of The Forest Lands tend to be proud, noble and honorable, yet aggressive and always ready for a fight. They are naturals of stealth and traversing the treetops as they travel from place to place. They rarely touch the ground as even their shelters for the night consist of large tree houses connected by rope bridges. The Zeta Anti-Mages take pride and honor to the extreme. They aren't always easy to get along with, but if you befriend them, they'll be with you to the end. They believe in repaying debts and respecting other people's sense of honor. They also feel it's better to die in combat than to live as a prisoner. Zeta Anti-Mages are the quickest to get into a fight and are usually the last ones standing once it's done.

Desert Region

Located in the middle of Terraina, The Desert Region is one of the harshest areas that people live in. Home to several species of ants, scorpions and monitor lizards well above the size of any variant found on earth, this humble people have their work cut out for them if they wish to survive. Home to populations of people with a darker complexion to deal with the harsh sunlight, the people of the desert are very giving and often go out of their way to help those less than prepared who venture too far into their home. Their industry usually revolves around the trade of water harvested from three large oasis, as well as staffing various checkpoints throughout the region. These checkpoints serve as rest stops for travelers and Anti-Mages, and places to restock on clothing, gear and other essentials. The Delta Anti-Mages largely specialize in stealth, fitting since some of the wildlife can reach sizes of three hundred feet in length. They often strike hard and fast and use cover or mirages to disappear before the opponent knows what hit them. Despite that, The Deltas are some of the kindest Anti-Mages you could come across.

Bay Area

The people of the bay are quite adept at living near the water. Home to surfers, fishermen and a harbor that provides transport to The Surrounding Islands and Oria, the continent on the other side of the ocean, The Bay Area is another major center of commerce. Natural born sailors and fishermen, the people of The Bay Area are natural navigators, and are friendly on the surface, but often find themselves frustrated by anyone who can't handle themselves in their home. They also place heavy emphasis of learning from the past, as such, many historians call this place home. The Epsilon Anti-Mages present themselves as warm and friendly, but they have a mentality that demands you learn fast or die. They fiercely protect the ruins in their area for archeology and often find ways to incorporate water into their fighting techniques. They can be counted on to pull through in a clutch, but staying on good terms with them can be notoriously difficult.

Arctic Zone

Home to some of the most inhospitable environments on Terraina, and average day in The Arctic Zone can range from twenty degrees to negative forty. Most of the industry here focuses on furs, rare foods and renting supersonic silver hawks for travel. If one plans to travel here, then he or she better prepare well if he or she hopes to survive. The people here are pale, often blonde and very cold and distrusting of outsiders. The mentality of survival of the fittest reigns supreme in this area and if you can't show some promise in the field, you will quickly be abandoned to save as many other lives as possible. The Alpha Anti-Mages may have earned their "Alpha" symbol for producing some of the best and most ruthless fighters in all of The Anti-Mages. They don't mix well with the other branches, and will follow the orders of their supreme commander without question, even if it means they have to abandon or turn on their allies and guests. That doesn't mean they're evil, but its a nature versus nurture problem that is necessitated by the harsh environment they are born into.

Mountain Range

Though the Brotherhood of Wizardry has smaller bases dotted throughout Terraina, their main headquarters is housed in the mountains. With few other settlements in the area, not much is known about this area. Technically governed by the Desert region, The Mountain Range doesn't share the status of a province of Terraina that the other areas enjoy. as such, they are largely uninhabited, though they are home to several mines, Starlight town, a small mining town, and Cavern city, a city on the west coast that is connected to several underground passages and ruins. Mount Trinity, a dormant volcano with three spires of stone also resides here. Mount Trinity also houses a shrine that depicts Aurora, The Crystal Entity of the Heavens.
